How should naturally brunette girls go about dying and maintaining a blonde hair color?

First off, brunette has a red component, so be careful. When I go blonde (I was taught in a salon about this, they did my first time), I have to strip all color, then I have to add a green component. Green???!!!!

Yes, green, you can find it in the Ash blonde range - so you would want to mix Ash into the peroxide mix you use to strip it.

If you don't use green, you wind up orange. The green neutralises that.

My hair is light golden blonde. How should naturally brunette girls go about dying and maintaining a blonde hair color?
you would obviously need to process your hair.

meaning, lighten (bleach)

To give you the most accurate info

I would need to know your hair level/texture/length

if you have ever processed it before?

whats in your hair, as far as color?

It is better to go to a hair salon/ hair dresser

and have them complete a strand test

which means, they test a strand of your hair

and see how light it can go

and they also test the elasticity and texture.

(to make sure your hair can stand the lightener and chemicals, etc)

There is a long process when going blonde for brunettes

that involves alot of bleach

and toner. but it is possible...

feel free to email me if you want to know how to bleach at home

Hope i helped! How should naturally brunette girls go about dying and maintaining a blonde hair color?
It isn't the best idea for quite dark haired people do go blonde because in some cases it involves bleaching which is very bad for your hair and can sometimes make it fall out. I suggest just dying your hair a lighter shade of the colour it is now because another point of dying dark hair blonde is the re-growth which is not an attractive sight lol
well you'll have to lighten it which can be damaging. Usually you should get a root touch up every 6-8 weeks. Your hair will be dry at 1st but you can use deep conditioners and stuff for your hair. I would use the Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition line. The deep conditioner has avocado oil in it which is great for dry damaged hair. %26amp; you should probably get the dead ends cut every 6-8 weeks.
