Ok the story is my hair is a natural kinda dark blonde... now its a light blonde but my roots have grown out over an inch and i want to go a bit lighter... so if i use a home kit to go about 3 shades lighter will it become brassy and will it even out my darker roots or will they still be darkerBlonde hair coloring?
It depends on the kind of blonder. I would suggest getting a 30 Minute Blonding kit. They sell them in proffesional salaon stores. But yes it should even out just heat more of the roots then other hair.Or go a few shades lighter on the roots.Blonde hair coloring?
You could still bleach or dye your hair blonde. I suggest going to sallys and getting some toner. That will eliminate the brassyness and any other unwanted color giving you a nice blonde color

Blonde Hair Coloring?
I'm going to be getting my hair colored at the salon this week (again, over a dark red/brown color) and I wondered if it would be possible (and look right) to dye it blonde.
I am aware that the stylist would have to bleach my hair before they colored it and would this be too much damage for my already damaged hair to take?
Also, I am caucasian with a medium skin tone, dark brown eyes and light brown eyebrows. My hair is wavy/curly and falls roughly 3 inches below my shoulders. My natural hair color is a light to medium brown.
Do you think it would be a good idea to go blonde?Blonde Hair Coloring?
I think if you went blonde right away it may be too much for your hair to take. I'd suggest getting some blond highlights or going full blown blonde in stages.. so your hair isn't ';Shocked'; You should ask your stylist about this.. she should have the perfect answer for you- and if you feel like you can't talk to her about, maybe you should find a salon where you can! Hope this helpsBlonde Hair Coloring?
i would go to one of those websites that you can put in a pic of yourself, and try different shades of hair color to see if you would look ok if you went to blond....

awe, just put chunks of blond in your hair, because people won't take you seriously if you go blond, for some reason. And if this is your boyfriends idea, get a wig. good luck in your ventures!!
I would not go for all out bleaching that really would be to hard on your hair if it's dry %26amp; damaged. Try med hi-lites for now and start a deep conditioning treatment. Within a few weeks you'll be ready for all over lighting.
I think that if you look good in the color blonde then do it . If you like the blonde hair then try it you clould always cahnge your hair back to your hair color
Well what i did was i dyed it dark brown. Then i bought this product ';Sun in'; it really worked
NO
Stay the way you are.

Blonde Hair Coloring?
just purchased 30 volume ';quick white'; powder at sally's with a 30 volume developer. it says on the bottle not to let the dye touch the scalp, but i'm not sure how to apply it and color the roots without having it touch the skin. what should i do?Blonde Hair Coloring?
Quick white is the product used for streaking, highlighting ,frosting, but not for plain bleaching, therefore it's to strong for regular blond, for regular bleach you can use Clairol's
ultra blue with boosters, ask at Sally's, but make sure the person knows about colorBlonde Hair Coloring?
if you use a dye brush it might make it easier to not get it on your scalp. but i don't have any suggestions other than that.

I'd say no. I'm a hairdresser and I have this conversation with my clients all the time. Not everyone is meant to be blonde. I actually think you would look better with DARKER hair (and a new haircut, as your fringe is somewhat uneven and it needs to be a little shorter). I would love to get my hands on your hair. I would do an all-over warm brown color. Just like a really rich mocha color. Then just through the top, I'd put really fine dark blonde highlights....not anything golden blonde but something just a few shades lighter than the all over mocha. I'd do it like a partial foil just through the top and sides just to break up the all over color and make the color a little more personalized. You'd have very fine, natural looking dark blonde highlights. This would look more natural and go much better with your skin tone. And by keeping the blonde somewhat darker than the typical beachy summer blonde, it would grow out better and you wouldn't have such noticeable outgrowth and, thus, could go longer inbetween retouches. Your hair would also not look like you have to go get it colored, which is always great for people who want to be blonde. Then I'd take your hair up a few inches, about an inch above the shoulders. It would great with a lot of layers. It was kind of hard to see the layers in the pic you gave, but I'd probably start the layers right at the cheek bone. It will give the hair more interest, and frame your face more. I would connect the fringe (bangs) to the rest and you'd have all these funky, gorgeous pieces that would hide when all your hair is down and fall out around your face when you put it up in a pony tail. So yes, if you stayed a darker blonde (tell your hairdresser you want level 7/8 highlights) with a mocha brown base (tell your hairdresser you want the base/main color to be a level 4/5 mocha or level 5 warm) then you could pull off a blonde. But if you're thinking Jessica Simpson/Paris Hilton blonde, I'd say no, you couldn't be a blonde, even with the tan. I'm a natural blonde and even I color it darker just because of the undertones of my skin. You have the same undertones I do and that's the biggest reason I'd say no to being blonde. A good example of the haircolor is Jessica Alba, although I'd keep your blonde highlights a little less golden than hers are right now.
If you want some examples and/or pictures of the cut and/or color, feel free to email me. Yes to dark blonde no to Paris Hilton blonde. Good luck and I hope this helps you.Would I look good blonde? hair coloring advice would be helpful :)?
yea you would but you should keep your skin tone the way it is..most models are light skin btw!..anyways i think you should do a very light blone like the olsen twin in this pic but the same light color in the front where your bangs are as well

oh and dont get highlights!
blonde highlights on brunettes usually ends up looking bad! What red or blonde hair colors would look good on me?
Red hair would look better on you. Blonde is too common as is brown. Dye it a natrual red though. It bugs me when people dye it that fake blood red color. Dye it the way redheads look. Their IS a difference between having red hair and being a red head. Having red hair is just having red hair and not looking like it really belongs. Being a red head is having the porcelin skin tone, the curly/wavy cascading locks of coppery red flowing down your back. Red hair is unique and less than 5% of the population has natural red hair. Brown hair is poop color and blonde is just plain boring and ugly. Please don't get a spray tan though--they are ugly too.
Do blonde, my skin is very close to that color and my hair is even more blonde than that and my natural colors is about that color it will definately look pretty
i would suggest getting ask blonde highlights :]
you face and hair color now is super gorgeous and if you get ash blonde highlights it will look better :]
btw your super pretty
im naturally blonde and idk why anyone would want to dye their hair blonde. i hate my hair. especially because of the dumb blonde jokes
i actually really like that blonde
it wouldnt be too drastic of a change since your hair is already pretty light but it would suit you well =]
brown looks aboslutly gorgeous on you i think you should keep it :]

Good blonde hair colors?
My hair is naturally a golden blonde, but it is really damaged from a bad perm last year which has not yet fallen out. I've gotten highlights and lowlights a couple of times and right now it's been a while since I've gotten it done and it's looking really fake yellow. I want to go a strawberry or darker blonde, but not too dark. I really love this color- http://www.style-hair-magazine.com/image-files/largeblondehaircolor7.jpg
or something similar to it, maybe more natural. Just a medium blonde. I'm fair with blue eyes, so if you could send some pics that would be great!Good blonde hair colors?
DYK that your hair get sunburned, too, just like your skin?
If you're naturally a golden blonde, you can have that same color naturally if you kept your hair covered from the sun, using a good hat or scarf.
But if you want naturally darker blonde, get out of the sun more.
But that would age you faster, if you have fair skin.
Just a little info.Good blonde hair colors?
Any color can be changed into a neutral or ';more natural'; color using a toner. Go to your local sally beauty supply or professional hair place and ask for a toner that will make your hair more natural looking. no need for bleach, especially if you're a natural blonde!

Any blonde hair coloring kits that wont make your hair brassy?
I have naturally medium brown hair...but right now their are lighter shades of brown and blonde highlights with my normal medium brown underneath.
I dont want to go spend $70 on another highlight session... so I was wondering what at-home coloring kits are good (and any particular blonde shades look nice) and dont make your hair brassy?
I wanted like a dark blonde color..... I wont bleach because I have fine hair and my hair stylist said I can NOT bleach my hair no matter what.
Any suggestions?Any blonde hair coloring kits that wont make your hair brassy?
My natural color is a medium ash blonde, and the box dyes always turn my hair brassy, if not completely orange. I either have to spend the money and get it done professionally, or use the bleach kits...at least I think they're bleach. The Clairol highlighting kit with the cap - whether or not it's bleach, it turns my hair a nice blond without being brassy.
Try buying dye at Sally Beauty. I've never done this, but I think they have professional colors there that your stylist would use.Any blonde hair coloring kits that wont make your hair brassy?
i dont home dye my hair anyone i get it profesionally done. when i did i liked Feria if your gonna home dye it dont expect the color to come out like it says on the box. its usually a shade or 2 lighter or darker and in my case a totally different color. I would get it professionally done but thats just me

You would look good as a blonde. I think that everyone can go lighter, the right shade is just very important.
You would look best with a GOLDEN BLONDE color, if the color of your skin is the same as in your picture.
From what I can see in your picture you have red in your hair now. I would suggest that you get your hair done by a professional. The red in your hair could easily become brassy and orange when you lighten it.
You would not look good with icy blonde or ashy blonde hair. You should stick with blondes that have a golden base. If you decided that you want to go all blonde, not just highlights, which I think would look really cute on you, your eyebrows look like a good color for a natural blonde. This is good because it won't look as harsh as someone who has black eyebrows. You could always lighten them too if they make you feel self conscious.
I continually switch my hair from blonde to brown. My natural color is dark brown. Being blonde makes me happy. It is always a good change. Just make sure that you do not end up with orange hair. And you are going to have to moisturize it a lot if you need to bleach it to turn it blonde. (which with that red in your hair I am sure you will have to)
E-mail me if you'd like anymore advice.Would I look good blonde? hair coloring advice helpful :)?
pictures can be deceiving with lights and etc......your hair appears to be a little auburn, i do not suggest blonde all over your are to fair and you would look more washed out even w/ your beautiful eyes i would suggest a little blonde highlights small pieces and maybe even low-lights( a few shades lighter than your own hair) but i think you would be very dissatisfied with blonde all over i have been a cosmetologist for 25 yrs and top cosmetologist for my state in competition

Your hair and that blue top make your eyes pop. You can if you want to but you certainly don't need to. You do know your grades will drop and you won't be able to find your way home or remember your own name, don't you? LOL 8~)
um i like your hair the way it is now. i think you should kinda keep it like that. maybe what you oculd do is to get it lighter slowely and if you like it then you could keep it that color or whatever. its all up to you :D
yea but i would try highlights first just to see if you like it so that you wont make a drastic change.that you may not like.
yea... it would look good... i suggest not getting curls... it'll hide your face.... get the layers though.. that would look really cute! make sure you dye your eyebrows too or it will look totally fake!
yeah i think if you dye your hair blonde, then get layers, then you should curl your hair you would look great
u aredy look hott if u go blonde people are goin to think difreent abut u and u would look way better and nice blue eyes
yeah! you would look amazing in dirty blonde. =)
oh ya definitely it would look so pretty with your eyes!
yes, you will and you have pretty eyes
thanks :)

If you have blonde hair[ colored] and it turns yellow, what can you do or do have to go to the salon?
Salon. If you have blonde hair[ colored] and it turns yellow, what can you do or do have to go to the salon?
uhh salonnIf you have blonde hair[ colored] and it turns yellow, what can you do or do have to go to the salon?
so you mean like a color other than what it was colored to? It probably has to do with the chemicals faded or something. I think you'd have to go to a salon and get a touch up, or re-do it or something. I'd ask your hairstylist (if you have one). You might want to try that John Frieda Brilliant Blonde shampoo. Haven't used it, but it says it keeps blonde blonde.
Use a Purple toner in your hair. It will get the yellow out since it is the opposite of yellow.
you have to use a purple toner in your hair to counter act the yellow.
when you have your hair colored alway use shampoo and conditioner for colored hair...never use a regular shampoo coz they strip your hair of the color that you had paid for in the salon...
The best thing to do is to go to walmart and buy hair dye removal kit and use that.it should work!?!if not then the salon will work!?!
toodles!?!
how often do you bleach your hair? if not often, color it near to your own color and let it grow out. if you've bleached it a lot, get to the salon. if you keep trying to change the color from yellow, you're going to end up with a nest of something that looks like broken green straw on your head. yes--GREEN!!!
2-3 times a week use a shampoo with a purple toner in it, such as Shimmer Lights, or So Silver. They help to keep blondes true, whether they are natural, or coloured.
you need a purple toner. or if you have a sally's beauty supplies near you what you can do is go there and buy a 20 % peroxide solution, and then pick out a color swatch that you like, semi permanant(or permanant),you mix 2 parts of the peroxide to one part of the color gel that you choose from the color swatch you like.its very easy to do.and you only need to do it when you bleach the hair.with toner you need to keep re-applying,and sometimes it tends to put a purple cast on the hair depending on how light your hair is.also if you do have the sally's in your area and bleach your own hair,i would also suggest purchasing the bleaching products for your hair there.they end up costing less, and are way better, and work faster so they are on your hair for less time so they cause less damage.i reccomend Wella brand to put a blonde color over your hair. :)myspace songs

Which blonde hair colors have a blue base tone ?
Contrary to the advise of others... many blondes have a blue base. Anything labeled an Ash blonde is blue base, and all platinums are a Violet blue base. This is what gives blondes that ';white'; hue to it, or lack of gold for deeper blondes. I use Ash based blondes any time I lift anybody with a deep blonde or brown to a light blonde, and then many times even follow with a blue base toner to still cancel out yellows (blondes are composed of yellow tones and blue cancels out yellow on the color wheel). This gives you that absence of color. Ie. Jessica simpson, gwen stefani, pamela anderson. All blue based blondes. Hope this helps.Which blonde hair colors have a blue base tone ?
To my knowledge the blue based hair colors were designated for black hair which would then add that blue shimmer to it..The color that comes to mind with blonde hair would be Ash (green) and a person needs to really be careful when using it especially if their roots are red based.People with like mousy blonde hair usually will use the Ash since the red based for blondes would only give them a bright orange hair color. So check them roots before adding your color...It can be quite humorous to say the least..Which blonde hair colors have a blue base tone ?
Go to a beauty supply store, the bottles of hair color will have the base tone right on the bottle. R - red G-gold GR-green O-orange
V-violet B-blue

What would happen if companies didn't make blonde hair coloring products anymore?
There'd be a heck of a lot more brunettes running around. What would happen if companies didn't make blonde hair coloring products anymore?
there would be more smart people in the world. What would happen if companies didn't make blonde hair coloring products anymore?
IQ levels would raise dramatically....lololol...j/k
hollywood would lose all its actresses
there would be no girls with pee yellow hair.
porn wouldnt be the same i guess.
A lot of blondes would be rioting in the streets!
A lot of people would have to go around with their natural hair color.
I would never leave the house again! No, seriously i wish that we could go back to the days before hair dye and makeup and revealing clothing. MUCH less pressure to look good! (also less time to get ready in the morning)
Most would go out of business.

Advice on blonde hair coloring please?
My daughter has dark blonde hair with some natural pastel blonde highlights in it but wants me to put a blonde tint on for her. I dont want it to turn out yellow, just a nice natural blonde...any advice please on nice colors? (going to sally`s tomorrow) should I just mix with 6% as her hair is quite fair anyway?Advice on blonde hair coloring please?
It depends what you are trying to accomplish. Lightening all over? Or toning down the highlights? The best thing to do to keep it looking natural is to just put in a few more highlights. You could use powder lightner (bleach) with 20 volume (6%) peroxide and you should get some nice blonde highlights.
EDIT: if she has never colored her hair before then yes, tint will lift it up to 4 levels depending on what developer you use. 20 volume developer will lift 1 level which probably won't show up very much. 30 volume lifts 2 levels and 40 volume lifts 3-4 levels. it's best to use a color with an ash base to fight the gold as you lighten. i would still recommend doing highlights instead of an all over color because it will be more subtle and natural looking and you will deal with less upkeep than if you do her whole head. If you are getting color at Sally's the staff there should be able to help you pick out a color.

Adults only -- safe blonde hair coloring for someone undergoing chemo?
A friend of mine needs some natural (non-ammonia based) hair coloring. Any site references would be appreciated.Adults only -- safe blonde hair coloring for someone undergoing chemo?
This site does organic hair colour (there is a blonde on this page) and they also do post chemo radiance cream for skin, so I guess you could email them and ask if the hair dye is ok to use?

Another organic one I've found is:

Also, why not ask the nurses in the hospital (or any counsellors they have?) if they know of anywhere that does this sort of thing?
